Suna East MP Junet Mohamed insulted Deputy President William Ruto and Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa during a television discussion.
The discussion, which focused on the war on drugs, began with Junet claiming that Jubilee was using a report presented by the late George Saitoti in 2010 to target Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and gain ground in the Coast region.

Junet referred to Nelson Marwa as a monkey for allegedly seeking to frustrate Governor Joho. He said, "Why we think they are targeting Joho, this monkey…this Coast regional coordinator has been on Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s case for a while, issuing alarming sentiments targeting Governor Joho."
When asked to apologize by the show host, Hussein Mohamed, Junet Mohamed refused and dared Nelson Marwa to take him to court.
Regarding recent warnings issued by Deputy President William Ruto to drug barons at the Coast, Junet said, "In fact, paedophiles are worse than drug peddlers." This comment was seen as a criticism of the Deputy President, following a woman’s claim that she had a child with him while she was in university.
However, the details of this claim, including the woman’s age at the time of the alleged relationship, are unclear. The Deputy President has accepted that he sired a child with the woman, Prisca Chemutai, but denied neglecting the child.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa defended the government’s stance on the war on drugs, suggesting that Governor Joho’s perceived anger towards President Uhuru and DP Ruto’s remarks may indicate guilt.
The debate followed Governor Joho’s statement that the government was targeting him in the war against drugs. He denied any links to drug trafficking and challenged the government to arrest him if they had evidence.
Governor Joho said, "President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto should first clean their house, which has drug traffickers, instead of focusing their attention on me." He described the allegations as a political gimmick that would not succeed.
