KCB RFC defeated Kabras 27-3 in the final at Nairobi’s RFUEA Grounds on Saturday, ending their eight-year Kenya Cup drought.
In other matches, Nakuru RFC secured third place by beating Strathmore Leos 21-15, while Impala II lifted the Eric Shirley Shield with a 29-10 win over KCB II.
According to KCB head coach Curtis Ogalo, "It has been a long wait and finally we were able to win the trophy. Boys were motivated ahead of the game and capitalized on Kabras mistakes to punish them. I knew they were strong on the breakdowns so I tightened my defence and finally pinned them down."
Kabras head coach Anthony Ogot said, "We didn’t expect to reach the finals, we lost but we proved our worth. We are looking forward for a better season next year."

KCB started strong, with Curtis Lilako scoring from a rolling maul and Darwin Mukidza converting for a 7-0 lead. Despite Lilako being sent to the sin bin, KCB maintained their advantage, with Mukidza setting up Jacob Ojee for a 12-0 lead.
In the second half, Aluda Beda scored Kabras’ only points with a penalty, reducing the deficit to 12-3. However, KCB continued to dominate, with Mukidza scoring after a speculative chip and Oscar Okaron failing to clear the ball. Peter Karia later scored off a rolling maul, with Mukidza converting to take the score to 24-3.
Mukidza added a late penalty to seal the 27-3 win for KCB, earning them their fourth Kenya Cup title. The team also received individual accolades, with Lilako taking home the top try and points scorer awards and Max Adaka being voted the most valuable player for the 2014/15 season.
