William Samoei Ruto, Kenya's Deputy President, has risen to prominence through perseverance and determination.

Ruto's background includes selling goods to passengers along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway, an experience that contrasts sharply with his current position as the second-highest executive official in the Kenyan government.

As someone who refers to himself as a 'hustler,' Ruto acknowledges the difficulties he faced in achieving his current status. Consequently, he invests heavily in rewarding himself and appreciating life's luxuries.

A recent example of this self-reward is a multimillion-shilling residence under construction in Eldoret town. According to reports, the estimated value of this property is Ksh 1.2 billion, surpassing the Ksh 453 million cost of the official residence in Karen.

This luxurious home, situated on a 20-acre portion of a 700-acre plot purchased by Ruto in Moiben constituency, Uasin Gishu county, features an office block, garage, swimming pool, library, gym, generator house, staff quarters, and an airstrip.

Reliable sources indicate that Ruto intends to occupy the new residence before the upcoming general election.

The construction of this home was reported by The Star.
