President Uhuru Kenyatta was left disappointed when he failed to collect a special gift from the late Bob Collymore before his death in 2019.
The gift, a bottle of Johnnie Walker Directors Blend whisky, was meant for the President as a token of appreciation from Bob Collymore.
According to sources, the 'boys club' led by Peter Kenneth scoured the world to find the rare bottle, which was released exclusively to Diageo directors in 2010.
Speaking during a memorial service for his mother, Peter Kenneth revealed that they were able to find the last bottle available globally of the exclusive whisky.
"An unbelievable stroke of luck to find it, but suffice to say, Bob Collymore may have helped from high up!" a member of the club said.
During Collymore's memorial service, Uhuru said he was disappointed he did not get time to return to Collymore's house to collect the gift.
"I was supposed to have gone back to collect my gift reserved for a special friend from Bob and so Peter Kenneth, Oigara and crew, you will pay. That did not belong to you," Uhuru said.
The bottle, number 138, is valued at Sh 460,000 and contains 46 per cent alcohol volume.
