A leading publisher in the local and regional market is looking for a Head of Information and Communication Technology Services to report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Description ¶
The successful candidate will be expected to plan, choose, buy, and install the company’s computer and information-processing operation, develop the information technology vision, and evolve strategies for the company.
- Oversee the development of corporate standards, technology architecture, technology evaluation, and transfer.
- Sponsor the business technology planning process, manage client relations, and align IT with the business.
- Develop IT financial management systems and oversee plans to reinvest in the IT infrastructure.
- Lead the development of an IT governance framework that defines working relationships and sharing of IT components among various IT groups within the corporation.
- Provide leadership in the strategic management of the company’s information technology, information management systems, and infrastructure.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities ¶
- Ensure an appropriate ICT policy framework is in place, including implementation of policies on data backup, digital content hosting, and security.
- Maintain and develop a modern, cost-effective, stable, and secure ICT infrastructure with relevant technical support.
- Work with the management team to provide strategic lead on the company’s technology, analyzing and prioritizing developments.
- Initiate and monitor contracts with service providers for online content bookstores and content converters.
- Plan, administer, and review the acquisition, development, maintenance, servicing, and use of computer, ICT resource tools, and telecommunications systems.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies ¶
To be appointed to this position, one must have significant experience in successfully implementing and managing IT in education/publishing projects, proven work experience of five years in software development or systems management, and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems, or Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science/Telecommunication/Information Technology or a relevant field.
- An EMBA/MBA will have a distinct advantage.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player with management aid skills, and results-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
