On a somber note, a memorial service was held at Peter Kenneth's Loresho home to honor the life of his late mother, Rahab Wambui Muhuni, who passed away last Thursday at the age of 84.
According to Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju, a close friend of Kenneth, the former Presidential candidate went above and beyond to ensure his mother received the best possible care during her illness. Tuju revealed that Kenneth built a private Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in his home, fully stocked with dialysis machines and medical equipment, as well as a team of four nurses who lived with the family and took care of Ms Muhuni's wellbeing.
Notably, this is not the first time Kenneth has shown such dedication to his family's healthcare. Tuju shared that he too had built an ICU unit for his father, who was unwell for 26 years before passing away in 2015.
Another ally of Kenneth, Maina Kamanda, described the former Gatanga MP as a caring son who did not fail to take care of his mother, even during busy campaign periods.
Ms Muhuni's health started failing in July 2003, when she suffered a stroke.
