Deputy President William Ruto has asked Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto for forgiveness over a perceived misunderstanding between them.
According to the original account, while addressing Members of the County Assembly from Bomet, Ruto requested that Isaac forgive him. He denied sending MPs and Senators, including Kipchumba Murkomen, Kithure Kindiki, Charles Keter, and Aden Duale, to insult him over his support for Raila Odinga’s referendum and his intent to unseat him as the de-facto Kalenjin kingpin.

This development follows an incident where William Ruto and his allies were booed and heckled in Bomet during a church function by Kalenjins for undermining their leader, Isaac Ruto. It took the intervention of the Bomet Governor to calm his supporters, allowing William to deliver his speech.
Ruto asked the Bomet MCAs to arrange a face-to-face meeting with Isaac Ruto to resolve their differences, stating that they have a long history and cannot afford to be enemies. He also expressed support for allocating funds directly to the grassroots for maximum development.
Senators Charles Keter and Lessan of Kericho and Bomet Counties, respectively, were also present at the meeting.
