According to The Nairobian, some young men have offered to pay thousands of shillings to join the society, while others claim to be linked to the organization and are running a massive scam on Facebook, targeting those eager to join.
A young man named Peter, who sells mogoka in Rongai town, expressed willingness to make a significant sacrifice, including a blood sacrifice of a family member and a registration fee of Sh50,000, to join the Illuminati.
In a phone interview with The Nairobian on September 11, Peter stated,
I feel that Illuminati is interesting. I want to join so as to make money. I am tired of being jobless and broke.
