The legal dispute between Football Kenya Federation and Kenyan Premier League Limited over the management of the top-tier league is expected to result in significant legal fees for both parties.
A lawyer familiar with the case estimates that each side may pay at least Sh10 million by the time the matter is resolved. The Football Kenya Federation is represented by Law Society of Kenya President Eric Mutua, while Kenyan Premier League Limited is represented by Geoffrey Obura.
"Both advocates are top lawyers and the parties who have engaged them must be paying through the nose. Normally, there is an advocate remuneration board that determines how much a lawyer should charge his client, however, at the end of the day it is all about what the two parties have agreed."
