US Study Finds Higher Divorce Rate When Wives Fall Seriously Ill

A US study published in the Journal of Health and Social Behavior found that marriages are more likely to end in divorce if the wife takes seriously ill.

In contrast to instances where husbands fall gravely ill, which does not change the likelihood of divorce, the study determined that when wives become seriously ill, the marriage is six percent more likely to end in divorce compared to when the wife remains in good health.
