Senator Bonny Khalwale has been arrested while leading demonstrations against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in Kakamega.
Protestors engaged police in running battles in Mombasa as CORD supporters also held anti-IEBC demonstrations in the city. Earlier, the Mombasa County Speaker was among 10 people arrested in Mombasa after police clashed with CORD supporters.
In Nairobi, protesters heading to the IEBC offices were dispersed using tear gas. At the time of reporting, CORD leaders had not arrived at the scene of the demonstrations.
