A police officer in Embakasi, Nairobi shot himself dead after killing his colleague on Tuesday, February 21, according to reports.
The officer, Patrick Kihagi, attached to Embakasi police station, shot a colleague, James Makokha, during an argument and injured another, Dominic Ng'etich.
Kihagi then turned the gun on himself, taking his own life.
Ng'etich, who survived the incident, said Makokha was shot as he tried to intervene in the argument.
Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome stated, "We don't know what transpired to lead to the fatal shooting incident,"
A firearm, nine rounds of ammunition, and four spent cartridges of 9mm calibre were recovered at the scene.
The injured police officer has been transferred to the Nairobi West Hospital in a stable condition, and the bodies have been moved to Kenyatta University Mortuary.
