On July 22, 2019, a six-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being hit by a car carrying Deputy President William Ruto's Press Service in Busia County.

The boy's father, Felix Mambala, has expressed deep pain and disappointment over the broken promises made by DP Ruto's office.

According to Mambala, he and his wife Elizabeth Akinyi were promised a job, financial assistance for her salon business, and a house after the accident.

However, nearly a month after their son's interment, the couple claims that none of these promises have been fulfilled.

DP Ruto's office responded by stating that the matter is currently before the court, which is why the promises have not been honored.

Mr. Mambala shared his frustrations with Citizen TV, saying, 'Hajawahi receive simu. Napiga simu hazishikwi. Mimi nasikia uchungu sana kumpoteza mtoto wa kwanza.' (He has never picked my call. I have made several unsuccessful attempts. I'm really pained by the loss of my first child)
