The Teachers Service Commission is seeking to fill 811 teaching positions in public primary and post-primary institutions. The vacancies have arisen due to natural attrition, with 524 posts available for primary school teachers and 287 posts for post-primary school teachers.
Eligibility Requirements ¶
To be eligible, candidates must meet the following basic requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Be 45 years of age or below.
- Hold original professional and academic certificates.
- Be registered as a teacher under Section 23 of the Teachers Service Commission Act 2012.
Note that only teachers who were employed as relief teachers on contract are eligible to apply.
Application Process ¶
Applicants for primary school vacancies must hold a P1 certificate and submit their applications to the TSC County Director in their preferred county by March 10, 2016. Successful candidates will be deployed to serve in any part of the country.
Applicants for post-primary institution vacancies must hold a minimum of a Diploma in Education Certificate and apply to the Secretary, Board of Management of the school/institution where the vacancy is advertised. They must also submit a copy to the TSC County Director by March 10, 2016.

The recruitment exercise is free of charge, and the Commission warns applicants against fraudsters who may extort money by pretending to assist with recruitment.
