A man from Zimbabwe has divorced his 40-year-old mother after claiming she used juju, a form of black magic, to control him.
According to the Zambian Observer website, the man visited the church of Pastor Mboro in South Africa, where he alleged that the pastor lifted the curse his mother had placed upon him.
The man, identified as Farai, claimed that his mother, Betty, had been using juju to keep him under her control. He stated that he thought it was love, but later realized that she was putting juju in his food to keep him blinded.
Farai said: "This woman is so evil, she had me under a spell for all these years, what made matters worse was that she insisted I eat home every day!"
He added: "I thought it was love, not knowing she was putting juju in my food to keep me blinded. If it was not for the Prophet’s prayers I would still be under her spell."
Farai also stated: "Honestly with all these fine young women, why would I settle for a woman as old as my mother, I have since changed numbers and I never want to see her again,"
When reporters attempted to contact Betty, she responded with obscenities.
The incident has sparked widespread shock and discussion, with many expressing disbelief at the unusual circumstances surrounding the marriage and subsequent divorce.
