US President Barack Obama is expected to arrive in Kenya to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, a three-day event.
During his visit, Obama will tour various locations including Nairobi National Park, Kasarani Stadium, and Kenyatta University, where he will deliver a talk. He is also scheduled to meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House and visit the United Nations headquarters in Gigiri.
In addition to his public engagements, Obama will reportedly meet with relatives in Nairobi, although the details of this meeting are not publicly disclosed. This will be their first reunion since 2006, when Obama visited Kenya as a Senator.
Given the demanding nature of his itinerary, Obama will not be accompanied by his family, including Michelle, Mailia, and Sasha. The security requirements for the First Family are substantial, and the resources needed to ensure their safety are significant.
Securing President Obama alone is estimated to cost the US government over Sh.5 billion, highlighting the complexity and expense of providing security for the American President.
