On July 21, 2019, KCB secured the Kakamega Sevens title by defeating Homeboyz 21-12 in the final of the first round of the National Sevens Circuit in Kakamega.

With three converted tries, KCB took an early lead, and despite Homeboyz's efforts, the Ruaraka-based club maintained their advantage throughout the match.

As a result, KCB took control of the overall standings with 22 points, ahead of the second leg, Kabeberi Sevens, scheduled for Meru the following weekend.

Homeboyz, the defending champions, secured second place with 19 points, while Mwamba, who won bronze by beating Nakuru RFC, had 17 points.

Vincent Onyala, a standout player for the national Sevens team during the 2018-19 World Sevens Series, opened the scoring for KCB with a converted try.

However, Homeboyz made a strong comeback after KCB's Olindi was sin-binned, with Collins Shikoli scoring a try that was converted by Brian Juma.

Olindi's return to the field saw KCB regain their lead, and Isaac Njoroge's try sealed the win for the bankers.
