A woman in Kambi Moto Slums near Kipkaren trading centre attempted to take her own life on Friday evening, according to local reports. The incident occurred after her husband allegedly refused to have sex with her.
The Lumakanda OCS, Lawrence Nallo, confirmed the incident. He stated that the woman, June Mirati, had confronted her husband at his workplace and demanded that he accompany her home.
Upon arriving home, June allegedly threatened to harm her husband's private parts if he declined to fulfill her sexual desires. This led to a confrontation that drew a large crowd, which eventually stormed the couple's house and separated them.
Late in the evening, the woman was found hanging with a rope tied around her neck inside their home. Neighbors intervened and rescued her, taking her to the hospital for treatment.
