Chaos erupted at Moi Gardens in Kericho after police sealed off the venue, which had been booked by Kanu. The intervention occurred after Jubilee Party, associated with Deputy President Ruto, canceled a rally planned for Kapkatet Stadium.

Police attempted to forcibly remove the Kanu team from Moi Gardens, but were unsuccessful. Kanu Secretary General Nick Salat insisted on using the gardens as the venue.

Allegations have surfaced suggesting that orders to block Kanu rallies originated from high-ranking officials. Some blame Deputy President Ruto for allegedly misusing state resources, authority, and power.

The use of police to cancel a political rally has led some to speculate that Jubilee's support may be waning, indicating a challenging environment even after Deputy President Ruto spent over a week in the county.

Today marked the final day for submitting candidacies for the county senate seat. The Kanu candidate is narrowly ahead of Jubilee's Aaron Cheruiyot, with many pundits characterizing the competition as intense.
