The Nairobi Hospital, a leading healthcare institution in Eastern Africa, has announced a career opportunity for a Technical and Facilities Manager.

Key Responsibilities ¶
The successful candidate will report to the Operations Director and be responsible for ensuring the quality and cost-effective execution of defined construction and refurbishment projects, as well as overseeing facilities management.
- Provide effective linkages and interface between the Hospital and contractors on project phases, including start-up, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
- Track projects against schedules, budgets, and phase gate review objectives.
- Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated occurrences.
- Review works and documentation for compliance with statutory and Hospital standards.
- Monitor and evaluate project activities as guided by the project work plan and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Identify project scope changes and ensure job change notices are submitted and approved before implementation.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are met by contractors.
- Oversee facilities management.
Requirements ¶
- Degree in Architecture, Quantity Survey, Construction Engineering, Land Economics, or Building Economics.
- Up-to-date registration with the respective professional body.
- Seven years of experience, with three years in a supervisory position.
- Proven track record in managing multiple and/or complex projects.
- Conscientious and results-oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
