Big Ted, the events organiser for President Uhuru Kenyatta, has spoken publicly about his struggles with weight management. In a video shared online, Big Ted, whose real name is Thomas Kwaka, explained that he recently underwent gastric bypass surgery in India.
According to Big Ted, he previously weighed 156kg and aims to reach a healthier weight of 90kg through lifestyle changes and healthy living. He stated,
I have just undergone a gastric bypass surgery in a hospital in India. A few months ago, I met this doctor who came to Kenya and we started talking about various things. But one of the things that caught me was the issue that I’ve been trying to take care of for a very long time, which is managing my weight.
Big Ted reported losing 5kgs in 4 days following the procedure and expressed his commitment to achieving his ideal weight through careful dietary choices and a healthy lifestyle, saying
My ideal weight is 90 kgs and I’m working towards the 90 kgs through healthy living, healthy lifestyle, a very well calculated and thought process of what I’m consuming.
