Prior to attending the event, Cabu Gah texted his mother, asking for directions to Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. His mother, who is from Kangundo, Machakos, was excited to hear that her son would be visiting the area and asked him to visit his uncle.
The Journey to Masaku 7s ¶
Cabu Gah traveled to the event with four friends: Mike, Linet, Charles, and Sue. They left Nairobi at 12:45 pm and encountered heavy traffic on the way. To pass the time, they drank beer and listened to music.
When they ran out of beer, they purchased more from hawkers who were selling it on the roadside. The group continued to drink and enjoy themselves, with Linet even climbing on top of their car at one point.

As they approached Machakos, they encountered a group of girls in a convertible who were yelling at them. Cabu Gah got out of the car and told the girls to calm down, but they responded by flashing him the middle finger and throwing an empty beer can at him.
Linet and Sue got out of the car and confronted the girls, with Linet even jumping onto their car. The situation was eventually diffused, and the group continued on their way.
