A quote from Thomas Gammarino states, "We’re all prostitutes if you think about it. The whole capitalist system is built on meretriciousness. You sell your body or you sell your mind, and the Cartesian mind/body thing is a fallacy anyway, your mind is just your brain, so it amounts to the same thing really."

Some individuals may wonder what sex workers in Nairobi do during the day.

The following activities have been reported:

  1. Sleeping: Since they often work at night, daytime is when they rest. Unless consuming caffeine or Miraa, they typically sleep throughout the day.
  2. Business as usual: Some sex workers are constantly working, taking calls and attending to clients during the day, whether on the streets, in neighborhoods, or through house calls.
  3. Housewives: It has been suggested that some married women engage in sex work to supplement their income, potentially without their husbands' knowledge.
  4. Office Work: A few individuals may lead double lives, working conventional jobs during the day but engaging in sex work at night.
  5. Baby Sitting or domestic work: Some sex workers may also work as maids or babysitters during the day, potentially explaining their sleepiness.
