Kilifi County Police Ordered Back to Duty Ahead of By-Election

All police officers on leave from Kilifi County have been directed to report back to work by the end of the day. This move appears to be aimed at increasing security personnel ahead of the Monday by-election.

According to local reports, the decision may be a response to the Jubilee team's activities in Malindi town, where they were seen distributing brown envelopes. Local CORD leaders believe the order is intended to intimidate supporters of ODM candidate Willy Mtengo.

Musa Chwiya, a local ODM official, stated:

We will not be intimidated by the state. The victory is rightly ours.
