A dispute involving alleged false statements has led CIC Chairman Charles Nyachae to threaten a lawsuit against nominated Senator Janet Ongera.
According to the original account, this development follows the Bonchari by-election, where rumors suggested Charles Nyachae played a strategic role in the success of the Ford People candidate, Zebedeo Opore.
Background ¶
The rumors allegedly angered Charles Nyachae, prompting him to threaten legal action against Senator Ongera. The threat came after she reportedly stated on KTN Prime Time news and in the Daily Nation that she saw Charles Nyachae campaigning for a particular candidate in Bonchari.
In a letter dated June 23, 2014, Charles Nyachae addressed Senator Ongera, denying the allegations and stating that her remarks were false and malicious, intended to embarrass him and injure his reputation.
Response and Consequences ¶
Charles Nyachae instructed his advocates to initiate appropriate action to protect his interests, following the alleged false utterances. The letter was copied to Ashitiva, BM, at Nyachae & Ashitiva Advocates in Nairobi.
