AFC Leopards Unveil Seven New Signings Ahead of 2019/20 Season

On Sunday, AFC Leopards, a 12-time Kenya Premier League champion, unveiled seven new signings in a bid to improve their performance in the upcoming 2019/20 season.

Club president Dan Shikanda expressed optimism about the new signings, stating that they will give the team a competitive edge in the new season.

Among the new signings is Vincent Habamahoro, a midfielder who has signed a two-year contract with the club. Habamahoro has previously played for Police FC and Kyovu Sports.

Another new signing is Tresor Ndikumana, a midfielder who has played for several Rwanda Premier League outfits, including Jeca FC, Union Sporting FC, Lydia Ludic, and Amajagu FC. Ndikumana has also represented the Burundi national team, scoring nine goals for Amagafu FC.

Ismaïla Diarra, a Malian season marksman, has also joined the team. Diarra has previously played for several clubs, including CA Bordj Bou Arréridj, CO de Bamako, Al-Ismaily, Azam F.C, Chabab Atlas Khénifra, Rayon Sports F.C, and Daring Club Motema Pembe.

Seasoned centre-half Soter Kayumba returns to the team on a two-year contract, having previously played for Etincelles FC and AS Kigali. Kayumba has also had a spell with 2009 Kenya Premier League champions Sofapaka.

Former Nzoia Sugar centre-forward Hansel Ochieng has signed a two-year contract with the club. Ochieng has previously played for several KPL outfits, including Nairobi Stima, Sofapaka FC, and Thika United.

Robert Mudenyu, a seasoned centre-back, has also joined the team. Mudenyu scored three times for Sony Sugar last season and has also played for Muhoroni Youth FC and Eldoret based Raiply FC.

Ugandan international goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan joins the team's goalkeeping department on a one-year contract. Ochan has previously represented AGF Aarhus, Bloemfontein Celtic, Villa SC Victoria University SC, KCCA FC, and Kabwe Warriors.

Speaking on his official Facebook handle, club president Dan Shikanda expressed his confidence in the new signings, stating that they will help the team achieve its goal of winning the league.

The team will remain in Mumias for one week before returning to Nairobi, where they will pitch camp for two more weeks before embarking on preseason friendlies.
