A recent article by Ghafla! has sparked a heated exchange between the publication and singer Victoria Kimani.
Kimani took to Instagram to express her dissatisfaction with the article, stating that despite her and her sister Yvonnedarcq's efforts to create a musical piece, #OohlalaOuiOui, they were reduced to negativity due to the article.
She posted:
"So...after knowing each other for 6 years + my sis @yvonnedarcq finally get in the studio and create #OohlalaOuiOui.... (Official video link in her bio).... and we manage to pull together this beautiful piece of art...styled ourselves and shot in the beautiful South Africa by @studiospacepictures....and after several months, we finally release it to our fans...anlook online to see that after all of that.... we are still reduced to ..... thanks to the worlds worst journalist and tabloid blog ghafla.... this is how NOT to write an article about a Musical Release."
Kimani further criticized the author of the article, saying:
"You are ignorant and your slander of a write up has now leaked to other blogs who look to you for content. Instead of simply writing Wow! This is the BEST Music Video collab to come out of Kenya....or wow... these girls rep Kenya well...or anything to better our industry or to uplift others to pursue the ARTS...YOU reduced our every effort into your sick little twisted mind."
She also acknowledged Sue, a member of the Ghafla! team, for consistently writing positive content, but expressed disappointment in the blog's management for hiring the author in question.
