A reported Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Kenyatta and Moi families has been mentioned in relation to Kenya's presidential elections.

According to the original account, there was an understanding that William Ruto would support Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 election under one party, and then Ruto would run on the same ticket in 2022. However, it is also stated that there is another MOU between the two families, aiming for both Uhuru Kenyatta and Gideon Moi to become presidents.

Those privy to this information claim the MOU is still in effect, with one part already fulfilled, suggesting it is now Uhuru Kenyatta's duty to ensure Gideon Moi becomes president. The close ties between the Kenyatta and Moi families were recently displayed when Kabarak University honored Uhuru Kenyatta with a Doctor of Leadership degree.

Political analysts have suggested that it may be challenging for the Mount Kenya region to support William Ruto in the 2022 election. They believe it would be difficult to garner support for Ruto, citing concerns about his treatment by other political figures.
