Migori County Governor Okoth Obado outlined the achievements of his administration in the first two years of devolution.

Key accomplishments include:

  1. Health: Development of a health strategic and investment plan, procurement of ambulances, renovation of primary facilities, and construction of new infrastructure such as theatres and mortuaries.
  2. Public Service Management and Administration: Development of sectoral strategic plans, construction of ward and sub-county offices, and renovation of public service management offices.
  3. Lands and Housing: Purchase of survey equipment, acquisition of land for development projects, and fast-tracking of title deeds issuance.
  4. Education, Youth, Sports, Culture, and Social Services: Construction of ECDE classrooms, youth polytechnics, and a county stadium, as well as issuance of education scholarships.
  5. Roads, Transport, Public Works, and Energy: Construction of approximately 400 kilometers of roads, improvement of roads in 30 wards, and commencement of solar street lighting projects.
  6. Trade, Tourism, and Cooperatives: Improvement of the business environment through construction of toilets and training of artisans, as well as donation of motorcycles to boda boda youths.
  7. Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Water Development: Support for smallholder farmers through provision of fertilizers and seeds, procurement of tractors, and promotion of farm mechanization.
  8. Finance and Economic Planning: Coordination of development plans, implementation of financial management systems, and completion of value-for-money audits.
  9. Environment, Natural Resource, and Disaster Management: Implementation of a greening program, rehabilitation of degraded hilltops, and response to disasters affecting schools and villages.

These achievements were highlighted by Governor Obado as part of his administration's track record in the first two years of devolution.
