A woman allegedly kicked her boyfriend out of bed due to his loud and irritating snoring, unaware that he was actually in the process of dying. According to the original account, the man's heart had stopped beating.
The incident began with Lisa Lee waking up to her boyfriend Lewis Little's loud snoring. She thought he was doing it intentionally to irritate her and eventually kicked him out of bed. However, Little did not respond, prompting Lee to take a closer look and discover that he was unresponsive. His heart had stopped beating.
Medical Condition ¶
Little had been diagnosed with a rare heart condition called Brugada syndrome. Despite being assured that he was a low-risk sufferer, Little passed away a year after his diagnosis.
Lee recalls the moment she discovered Little's lifeless body:
I felt that the sheets were wet, from Lewis's bodily fluids. I knew something was wrong. I turned the lights on and his face was purple. He wasn't breathing.
She immediately called an ambulance, but unfortunately, it took a while to arrive. It was reported that Little had died hours earlier, and the 'snoring' sound was actually the air leaving his body.
Awareness Campaign ¶
Lee has now embarked on a campaign to raise awareness about Brugada syndrome and the importance of implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) for those suffering from the condition. She believes that an ICD could have saved Little's life.
I believe that ICD can save many people's lives, whether the person is low or high risk sufferer of the disorder. It could have saved Little.
Lee's efforts aim to prevent similar incidents and promote awareness about the silent killer that took her boyfriend's life.
