Margaret Ngima, a 100-year-old woman, was sentenced to three months in prison by the Embu High Court for contempt of court on March 10, along with her sons Peter Njue, 72, and Angelo Gichovi, 52. The sentence was due to her inability to pay a 100,000 shilling bond.

Following her sentencing, Senator Mike Sonko intervened and paid the bond, leading to her release from Embu prison.

Senator Sonko posted an update on his Facebook page, addressing his constituents as Watu Wangu.
