A standoff in Kericho town between KANU and Jubilee supporters over rally venues ended when a large crowd of KANU supporters gathered at Moi Gardens, which had also been sought by Jubilee supporters for a rally featuring Deputy President William Ruto.

Jubilee leaders, including Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Sotik MP Joyce Laboso, claimed the party had booked Moi Gardens. However, KANU Secretary General Nick Salat said the venue was booked by the KANU MASHINANI group.
