Armed gunmen have killed Professor Stephen Nzuve, a lecturer at the University of Nairobi, outside his house in Tala, Machakos County.
Until his death, Professor Nzuve was a lecturer and the Associate Dean of the School of Business at the University of Nairobi.
According to his family, Professor Nzuve was shot moments after escorting guests who had visited his home on Saturday evening to congratulate his wife on her graduation.
Residents of the area have reported increased cases of armed burglary, with four people shot dead by armed robbers in the last three weeks.
