Huddah Monroe expressed her sentiments after watching a story by KTN's Mohammed Ali and John Allan Namu about residents in the Uhuru Owino area suffering from lead poisoning.
The story, which aired on Sunday, exposed the struggles of residents living near an EPZ metal refinery factory. It sparked widespread concern among Kenyans, who called on the government to take action.
Huddah Monroe was among those moved by the story. She stated:
"Good morning Kenya. I woke up like this…… We live in this country and continent where the poor don’t get justice at all…. I was totally saddened by the story last night on KTN about LEAD poisoning on kids esp, Reasons I don’t like watching local TV. We see soooo much yet so little can be done!! I’d rather stay blind to some things coz I see humans but I don’t see any humanity in this country and as an individual there’s nothing much I can also do!!!!"
