Professor George Eshiwani, a former vice chancellor of Kenyatta University, has passed away at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu.
According to reports, Professor Eshiwani was taken to the hospital by his wife from their home in Kakamega after he complained of feeling unwell.
Despite efforts by medical staff to revive him, Professor Eshiwani collapsed at the hospital and could not be resuscitated.
The news of his death was first announced by Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli on his Facebook page.
