CORD leader Raila Odinga met with MPs Ababu Namwamba, John Mbadi, and party director of elections Junet Mohammed at his Nairobi residence.

The meeting aimed to address the crisis in Homa Bay, which arose after Chairman Mbadi unilaterally called for branch elections. This move was protested by Ababu and Junet, who criticized Mbadi's decision-making style.

Prior to the meeting, Junet had expressed his dissatisfaction with Mbadi's leadership, warning him to stop running ODM like a 'briefcase party'. Ababu also raised concerns that no party organ had been consulted regarding the Homa Bay polls, which were feared to be scheduled soon after the recent election of Senator Moses Kajwang'.
