Mark Lawrenson, a former Liverpool defender, criticized Mario Balotelli after the striker's performance against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
Balotelli was substituted into the FA Cup quarter-final tie at Anfield during the second half but could not help his team secure a win, resulting in a goalless draw and a replay.
The Italian player has not scored in five consecutive competitive matches and has only netted four goals in all competitions since joining Liverpool from AC Milan for €20 million.
Lawrenson expressed his opinion on Balotelli's contribution to the team, stating, “Forget about Mario Balotelli. He is an absolute waste of time. He shouldn’t be anywhere near this team,” in an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live.
