Homa Bay women’s representative Gladys Wanga has been appointed as the new ODM Homa Bay county branch chairperson following an exercise held at Tourist Hotel in Homa Bay town.
The appointment was made during an event attended by 33 Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) and 11 party executives.
Upon her appointment, Wanga pledged to enhance branch support to ensure ODM secures the top seat in the 2017 elections.
In her address to the media, she encouraged the public to register as voters ahead of the upcoming election.
Meanwhile, Joseph Magwanga, who was slated to succeed James Rege as secretary, declined the appointment.
Magwanga stated, “I cannot be part of undemocratic leadership in my county. I was neither informed nor consulted, I never even expressed interest in the position.”
