Published on July 21, 2019, Victor Wanyama, the Harambee Stars captain, has expressed his desire to stay with Tottenham Hotspur despite reports of his potential departure.
The midfielder's comments come after the arrival of France international Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon, which sparked speculation about Wanyama's future at the club.
However, Wanyama has insisted that he intends to remain with Spurs, stating, "I will be back in training with Spurs next week. I do not want to dwell much on speculations because it’s normal for a player to be linked with other clubs when the transfer window is open but I’m not going anywhere."
Wanyama further emphasized his commitment to Spurs, saying, "I have not spoken to any other team because my aim is to remain at Spurs and to help my team next season. I have a running contract with Tottenham which I intend to honour."
Several clubs, including Aston Villa, Southampton, and Leicester City, have been linked with Wanyama, but the midfielder has made it clear that he intends to honor his contract and remain with Mauricio Pochettino's side.
