Joseph Henry Waswa, a flamboyant businessman, and his accomplices have been brought to justice for impersonating President Uhuru Kenyatta to con a city tycoon of Sh80 million in a land deal.
On February 23, 2019, police arrested eight suspects, including Waswa, after an intense operation in search of them.
The suspects mimicked President Kenyatta and managed to con a city tycoon of his Sh80 million in a purported purchase of land in Milimani, Nairobi.
According to the police, one of the men called the Sameer Africa Chairman Naushad Merali using a number 0722 208842 and identified himself as President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The arrested suspects who operated as 'State House Operatives' include William Simiyu, David Luganya, Gilbert Kirunja, Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wajekeche, Joseph Henry Waswa, and Anthony Wafula.
Earlier this year, we reported how one of the suspects, Gilbert Kirunji, lived the life of a King and owned a 10-bedroom palatial home in Karen.
Well, that was not enough. His other partner in crime, Joseph Henry Waswa, is one flamboyant businessman who was never left out in living the life of affluence.
In 2017, the Henry Waswa caused a stir when he landed a remote village in Mwingi with four choppers to pay dowry for his bride, Maureen Tabitha.
Henry Waswa who hails from Bungoma county was accompanied by several MPs led by area MP Charles Nguna (Mwingi West), Babu Owino (Embakasi East), Caleb Amisi (Saboti), and Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills).
According to sources, the philanthropic Waswa reportedly spent a whooping Sh5 million on the party that went through the night till dawn.
Well, good or bad, everything that has a beginning surely has its end. The high-flying opulence has been halted by the no-nonsense DCI boss George Kinoti who had vowed to go after criminals terrorizing innocent Kenyans of their hard-earned cash.
