On Friday afternoon, a dramatic carjacking plot unfolded in Naivasha, with police officers responding swiftly to a distress call and chasing down the suspects in a daring pursuit.
According to Michael Kibe, the owner of the vehicle, his brother was carjacked on Thursday night by three suspects who had drugged him and left him unconscious in a thicket in Nyandarua County.
Good samaritans found the brother and took him to hospital, and police used a car tracking device to locate the stolen vehicle, which showed it was in Kayole area.
Mr. Kibe, who had been searching for the vehicle, spotted it being driven along a feeder road and alerted the officers, who then gave chase.
The suspect sped off at high speed, leading to a thrilling car chase along the Naivasha highway, before branching off into a maize plantation in the outskirts of Kayole estate.
After a few minutes of pursuit, the police and Mr. Kibe found the car abandoned on the side of the road, with the suspect nowhere in sight.
Mr. Kibe praised the Naivasha police officers for their prompt response, which led to the recovery of the vehicle.
The vehicle was later driven to the Naivasha Police Station as the officers continue to hunt down the suspects.
