Renewed clashes between the Sirisia and Uasin Gishu clans in Trans Mara have left over 15 people nursing arrow-inflicted wounds in Kilgoris and Kisii hospitals.

According to reports, the clashes began at 6am and police were forced to intervene to disperse the two fighting groups.

Two people were arrested in connection with the incident.

Locals have alleged that the dispute between the two clans is centered around a piece of land.

Police have deployed more officers to the area to calm rising tension.

On August 20, 2018, a similar incident occurred in Trans Mara, resulting in at least 15 people being injured.

Narok County Commissioner George Natembeya confirmed the incident, stating that the dispute involved members of the Iruasi Ngishu sub-clan and Siria Sub-clan who were feuding over land.

At the time, Natembeya said, "We are going to sort out the land problem by tomorrow (Wednesday). I have instructed the land registrar to produce the map so that we can have this issue resolved."
