On the night of Tuesday, December 11, 2018, former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kenneth Kamto was gunned down by unknown assailants at his home in Nyali, Mombasa County.

Mombasa County commissioner, Evans Achoki, confirmed the incident, stating that Kamto was waylaid by three gunmen as he entered his home.

The gangsters, who had covered their faces, allegedly demanded money from the former deputy governor before shooting him dead.

Kamto's body was taken to Pandya Memorial Hospital Mortuary.

Local leaders, including Kwale senator, Issa Boy, arrived at Kamto's home moments after news about his death broke out.
