The incident took place at Kholera Bridge, where a boda boda rider and his two passengers met their untimely demise after their motorcycle collided with a Bungoma-bound canter that had lost control.

According to eyewitness Joan Sinda, who was at home at around 9pm when the accident occurred, she heard a loud bang and rushed to the scene.

"I was preparing supper for my family when suddenly I heard a bang," she recalled.

As the investigation into the accident unfolds, Mumias Police Commander Agnes Herbart has urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules.
