On Saturday, President Uhuru Kenyatta marked the beginning of the 2019 Ushirika Day celebrations in Nairobi, a day set aside to honor the country's cooperative movement.

President Kenyatta's first stop was the revamped New Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC) Dandora Factory, which he commissioned in the morning.

He then proceeded to Upper Hill, where he officially opened the National Co-operative Housing Union (NACHU) Plaza and Mwalimu Towers.

The celebrations culminated at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), where the President delivered his keynote address.

Joining the President were Trade and Industrialisation CS Peter Munya and Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.
