On Saturday and Sunday, the Wanyama Roya Charity Cup will be held at St. Mary's school in Nairobi, with Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama and former Kenyan international McDonald Mariga in attendance.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko hosted the pair in his office, praising their contributions to Kenyan football and encouraging young players to emulate them.

According to Sonko's Facebook post, he is proud of the positive impact the Wanyama brothers have made on Kenyan football and is urging the youth to work hard and develop their talents.

Victor Wanyama and his brother McDonald Mariga are the organizers of the tournament, which is being held in partnership with several corporates and well-wishers.

Wanyama and his brother met with Deputy President William Ruto at his Karen offices on Thursday, July 11, following Kenya's exit from the Africa Cup of Nations 2019.
