A coffee seller in Mwiki, Nairobi died after a violent dispute at Kwetu bar escalated into an assault, according to area residents.
Residents said the man entered the bar in 2018 to sell coffee, triggering a confrontation with the bar owner. He was then forced out of the premises.
After being removed, the man allegedly returned and broke a customer’s car window with a stone.
Residents said the bar owners reacted by attacking him and beating him severely. He was later found dead.
The killing angered local residents, who tried to burn down the bar before police intervened and dispersed the crowd.
The man’s body and the damaged car were taken to Mwiki police station.
