On November 19, 2018, Hon. Junet Mohamed, the National Assembly Minority Whip, took to Twitter to reveal that he had received threats of assassination from the same killers who had murdered Sharon Otieno, the girlfriend of Migori Governor Okoth Obado.
According to Mohamed, the killers had previously targeted Obado, with the Migori Governor once referring to him as 'Alshabaab' and threatening to 'deal with him' during the last elections.
Mohamed, who has never been on the same page with Governor Obado, revealed that he had received the threats after the killers had allegedly murdered Sharon Otieno.
He tweeted, 'Sharon killers are planning to assassinate me and I got your threats … A Muslim does not fear death.'
