On July 19, 2019, Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga took to Facebook to warn the public about scammers using his name to solicit money on social media.
According to Olunga, the scammers were mainly in the business of betting and were using his name to deceive unsuspecting victims.

"Morning friends, Just wanted to tell you to be careful with scammer pretending to be suing my name especially in betting and asking for money," Olunga said.
