On July 12, a lorry valued at Ksh. 6 million went missing from the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi. The vehicle, with registration number KBU 994Z, ISUZU, was later recovered on July 17, with the driver, Bernard Kyalo, claiming he had been drugged and the lorry stolen.

However, investigating officers were not convinced by Kyalo's claims and requested 10 days to verify his story. They sought CCTV footage from IC3 and the Intercontinental Hotel to establish the movement of the vehicle.

Magistrate Hellen Okwani ruled that Kyalo be remanded for 10 days at Central Police Station, pending further investigations.
